Sashiko is a Japanese technique to repair fabric. It also makes it stronger and so the object can hold for longer. 
Here different things I have repaired with this technique.
 I repaired with this technique one of my favourite fabric bags, the one I got in Shillington when I learned graphic design. 
Jeans. I covered the hole and reinforced the fabric.
